Who controls the request
Tandem is a business-to-business service. For most workforce, schedule, attendance, location, form, and safety records, the customer company controls the data and Tandem acts as its processor. Workers should normally send requests to their employer or contracting company first. Tandem will route requests to the customer company where it is not allowed to decide the request directly.
How to make a request
- Email [privacy email] from the email address used for your Tandem account, or ask your customer company admin to contact Tandem support.
- Include the request type: account closure, deletion, correction, export, objection, restriction, or withdrawal of consent where consent is the applicable basis.
- Include the customer company name and enough detail to locate the relevant records without sending unnecessary sensitive information.
- Tandem may need to verify your identity or route the request to the customer company before acting.
What may be retained
Deletion is not always immediate or absolute. Tandem or the customer company may retain records where needed for security, audit trails, legal claims, tax or accounting obligations, employment records, safety investigations, dispute resolution, backups, or other lawful retention reasons. Backups are normally overwritten on the backup lifecycle rather than edited individually.
Admin offboarding
Customer admins should deactivate users who no longer need access and review whether work records must be retained, exported, anonymized, or deleted under their own retention policy. Tandem should not be used as the only system of record for statutory employment, payroll, health-and-safety, or customer contractual records unless the customer has confirmed retention and export arrangements.
